Homework Assistance
We offer assistance to students in every subject area. This includes just one or multiple subjects depending on the needs of the student.
Reading Assistance
We offer need-based help in comprehension and vocabulary. Student curriculum is based on their greatest need. As skill gaps are filled, students progress until they are strong and able to read at their age/grade level.
Math Assistance
Help with basic skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and problem solving.
Study Skills
Emphasis on test taking, note taking, study strategies, time management, and organizational skills.
ACT/SAT Prep
NLC offers ACT preparation to prepare students for the exam in all four subject areas: math, science, reading, and English.
Orton-Gillingham Trained
The Institute for Multi-Sensory Education provides:
- A balanced approach to teaching reading, writing, and spelling across the curriculum
- The skills necessary to teach phonemic awareness, the alphabetic principle, fluency, and comprehension
- Instructional use of ongoing assessment to monitor individual strengths and needs
- Methods that support classroom and special education teachers, reading specialists, and paraprofessionals in presenting language instruction through a process of introduction, discovery, learning, review, practice, and evaluation.

Parental Support
For families that are enrolled in the Center, we offer parental support in the form of workshops, educational articles and materials, and special conferences.
